In this newsletter, I will review 2 papers from different Journals. Together, these investigations define a common source of post-traumatic neck pain and then offer evidence that chiropractic management may be the most effective treatment for patients with chronic whiplash-associated neck pain.
One of the most frequent questions physicians are asked to opine on is how pre-existing degenerative changes in the spine affect the outcomes of patients suffering “Whiplash” injuries (aka acceleration/deceleration injuries).
The significance of pre-existing conditions has been debated since long before I began practicing 23 years ago. The defense position has always been that the reason for the patient complaints is the preexisting condition.
